I bled for two-three weeks every month, and my doctor initially told me this was "normal" for the first three months (spotting is, but the amount of blood I lost shouldn't have been). After feeling drained and looking pale for another three months, I booked another appointment to inquire about this. My doctor then said "its still early", so I lived with a 2-3 week period for over a YEAR before switching. I have to say, switching from Alesse was the best decision of my life. I now only experience a 3-5 day period, that is not heavy or painful. I would truly advise switching immediately if you experience spotting longer than three months.

Never had any kind of problem with this drug or its generic coutnerpart. Works great for period regulation as well as birth control. Never experienced a side effect.
