I'm trying SJW for depression since I don't want to go on antidepressants because I'm scared of the side effects. It works well for me so far and I've been taking it a couple of days. It knocks the edge off. I still feel the depressed feelings but they are bearable and it's possible for me to eat and feel motivated to get out of the house. Might make it a bit hard to sleep

After 2-3 weeks it really seemed to work well to keep me from losing my temper over minor problems and improved my everyday mood in general.

I have been taking St John's Wort on and off for more than 10 years and I've never had any bad experiences. I stopped taking them when I went on birth control but I still take it once in a while when I'm irritable and it makes me feel better right away. I will recommend this instead of a prescription because the positive benefits.

I'm an LPN and was on Paxil and decided to go off because I have osteoprosis and these SSI drugs can cause bone fracture in woman over 50, which is me! A Pharmacist friend and RN recommended St John's Wort. I hope it works! So far it seems to be working and I prefer natural medications without all the side effects!
