The first week or two were fine, all it did was increase my grades. however the problems started to increase fast. Now im trapped with this, because my mom may be satisfied with the result, but she will never understand how it truly effects me. i tried to explain to her, but she wouldnt let me. If any parents see this i beg you to not give this to your child. The emotional trauma is simply not worth going through for academic achievement.

My doctor prescribed me this along with zoloft for my anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Not only is it not effective enough for me, it made the anxiety and depression worse and for a while i just thought it was me and not my medications so my zoloft was made stronger but recently i have looked more into my medications and clear as day it has said that concerta should not be used by patients with anxi ... Not only is it not effective enough for me, it made the anxiety and depression worse and for a while i just thought it was me and not my medications so my zoloft was made stronger but recently i have looked more into my medications and clear as day it has said that concerta should not be used by patients with anxiety and depression. So this is a bit of a warning please be aware and do research on whats prescribed to you. I don't think its a bad drug just not for me. I also have a loss of appetite, stomach pain, and dizziness at times but are minor and could be from the zoloft

This medication actually calms me down more than it helps focus, but it definetely makes me feel calmer and has not caused any problems so far. It DOES stop being as effective after a few years but otherwise its perfect!

I was diagnosed 4 months ago at 40 years old with severe ADHD. The diagnosis explained pretty much my entire life. I began taking 18 mg of Concerta and found that it wore off after about 8 hours. I was upped to 36 mg with the exact same effect. When it wore off my head turned into a war zone. I was raised to 54 mg. It seemed amazing at first as focusing became easy but I also felt like a baby learning to walk for the first time. I have been on 54 mg for 2 months now. PMS time is the worst. I fall into a pit of severe depression that even I don't understand. I am gaining massive weight even though I am eating almost nothing due to a severe lack in appetite. I have lost all desire to do any task in any day. I am slowly weaning back down to nothing as I would rather have my chaotic brain and inability to focus than to feel this way. I don't feel like myself anymore. I don't even know if I feel anything anymore. I am so emotionally numb.
