Have been on Qvar for 2 1/2 weeks... Only see little improvement in my breathing. Tried two other steroid type inhalers had side effects with both after 3-5 days. Now with Qvar getting Red forearms, muscle/joint stiffness/pain - Knees, ankles, calfs, forearms, teeth and hips. Still having trouble breathing - only on 40 mg too?

Drug co. says each. inhaler contains 100 puffs..however, I am only realizing about 30-34. Yes...the raspy/Julie London voice and I can no longer sing, but it is a LOT better than Advair, which caused terrible anxiety.I'd like to hear about the "puff #'s from other users Thanks Nan

I have been taking Qvar for almost 2 months now. It has helped and I need to use the rescue inhaler a lot less. Since being on it, I have had a lot of bloating and water retention. My doc says that can be a side effect and I don't like it, but I guess it's better than not breathing! I'm hoping I can go off after the seasonal allergy subsides.

I had serious mood disturbances with QVAR and had to come off it after 3 weeks. It definitely helped my asthma but the mood changes were so rapid and severe, I had to stop.
