My MD's office often prescribes Z pack, and while the medication may be effective, I won't take it again. I learned that one of the side effects is thrush, but after I'd taken it recently, and ended up with another episode of oral thrush. I've been treated for oral thrush 5 times over the past 3 years, but it seems the MD's did not connect the dots as to the cause, and continued to prescribe it for me. This has taught me that I need to be proactive in understanding more about the medication I take.

Bad choice within 1 hr of taking this drug I had felt like I was going to pass out (anaphylactic reaction). I went had was tested by one of the only 2 places in the state of Iowa that does antibiotic allergy testing and my reaction to this drug is far worse than the penicillin or cephalosporin families of drugs. But from past experience I had never had a problem with this antibiotic and which I could still take it.

I love this medication, the first sign of a sore throat, I call my doctor and he calls in a Z-Pack for me, whitin days I feel so much better, I hav ebeen using these for several years and there awesome, in fact, my husband felt a sore throat coming on last night and called our dr, he called in a z-pack for him, he picked it up on his way home from work, took the first 2 pills and feels much better ...
