I also use this drug for HE due to liver disease. This drug has certainly help with having bowel movements, thus removing toxins better than I was. O.K. I do have a sense of taste, here's my answer to this. It was killen me. I add 1 tablespoon of Tart Cherry Juice to my 2 TBLSP of Lactulose. The tart helps even out the syrup, try it, you won't be sorry!

Brilliant stuff. Senna and bisacodyl side effects were terrible for me so I was delighted to find that this works without causing me pain. There has been a side effect of being a bit more gassy but not uncomfortably so. Found 30mls twice a day worked, anything less didn't and I discovered from an IBS forum that is a common dosage. Very happy overall.

I am 73 yrs old. I have had bowel problems since I was a small child. Been taking lactulose since 2010. This medication has been a life saver for me. I have some flatulence and some bloating, but this is much better than the alternative. I only take 1.5 ounces every three days, which gives me bowel movements every day.
