After diagnosed with Hyatl Hernia and Acid Reflux was put on Omeprazole. It took away the pain I was having but after a few months I was not able to go to sleep at night and I would have itching. I stopped taking the medication and was not able to go to sleep at night without taking Melatonin for 3 months. I have been on this for 3 months. So far so good. I was taking prevacid, but my insurance wouldnt cover it anymore and this was the alternative drug. Plus I needed something twice a day not just before bed (thats when I took the prevacid). I get occasional heartburn and burping, but I just take 2 rolaids and with in 15 minutes I am fine. Insurance wouldn't pay for protonix so I was switched. Seems to work as well. I have been on it for 2 weeks with no side effects.
