I was for 10 years on some kind of narcotics butin the last 2 years I was on Oxycontin taking at least 10- 30mgs a day. I got on suboxone and have been clean ever since. It has been 1 year and 4 months. I take from 12 mgs a day to 20 mgs a day. It all depends on my pain level or if I have to work that day. I find this medication very effective. I aslo work the steps and really wanted to quit!!!!

Buprenorphine is as insidious as any opiate. However, lacking the high MU receptor affinity, (THE BUZZ),it isn't very much fun, although IT IS VERY ADDICTIVE.I only use it an immediate means of withdrawal relief and taper off after a week or so. Best of luck, find your own balance, seek center.
