    Have taken this for years, literally, since no insurance (come on Medicare) for the "magical purple pill"- it works very well and I start to suffer symptoms by second day of I don't get to the store for more- so it definitely relives symptoms. What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for ... Show Full Comment

    i've been taking this drug for a week and so far i'm still having the burn in my throat. it doesn't seem to be helping. at first I thought it did, but after a few days, the burn came back. Also having heavyness in my chest.

    Ranitidine works, but for me there were too many negatives. I noticed I was more depressed, irritable and sleepy.

    I'm 17 and have had unexplained heartburn for months. My doctor ended up putting me on ranitidine 300mg. Aside from the fatigue it caused, it worked wonders for my heartburn and sour stomach the first few days. However, it has been making me sick lately. I took it the night before and threw up twice.
