I was given this along with Phenergan to ease pain post wisdom teeth removal. It worked great I slept away the weekend pain free (my wife keeping track of when I was due more pain meds). I started them on Thursday and took them through Sunday and was fine. I had to work Monday however and discontinued them. I was left feeling, for a lack of a better expression, totally stoned, which was not great ... Show Full Comment

I pancreatic cancer and I have had all IV meds, you name it Ive had it. Demerol is good medicine, but Dilodid or however you spell it, is the best of the best IV you can ever have. Its the best IV med you can ever get, I have been going in and out of hospitals for since I was 16 and dilodid is one of a kind, its the gem.

I was given this via I.V. in the hospital for a septic kidney infection. Unfortunately, this did very little to control the pain. In fact, it caused me to start having head pain more than anything. From now on, I will REFUSE demerol!!!
