This is a dangerous drug. It takes a MRI to detect spots on the lungs. If you have trouble breathing or shortness of breath, insist on a MRI. The side effects are, dizziness, shortness of breath, lack of energy and others. My father is currently being evaluated for possible drug-induced pneumonia following taking amiodarone for several weeks. His pneumonia is resisting treatment with IV antibiotics. After reading the other reviews posted here, I can't imagine why his cardiologist even considered using it for a patient already dealing with serious lung disease!

My father died 2 months ago from Amiodarone Pulmonary Toxicity (however, his cause of death was officially labeled as "Interstitial Pneumonia”).
