The brand Seroquel works best for me; however, the insurance companies do not want to allow pharmacies to give me the brand name. I am forced to take generic brands which are not as effective as the brand. Two of my doctors write scripts for Brand only but I keep getting a lesser quality substitute that usually allows two hours before kicking in and I wake up several times a night. These I have no

When I was initially prescribed it, I was directed to take a half (100 mg) table the first day, then a full one the second day, and increase by one each day until 300 mg. I barely made it to 300 mg. I was prescribed 100mg seroquel by my psychiatrist about a month ago. Make sure you read all possible side effects because there are a lot and some are pretty serious! I cut my dose in half to 50mg because 100mg was way too strong. I have to take it no later than 11pm or i am exhausted the whole next day. So far I have had no side effects from the drug. I take it in combination with Lamictal 300mg

Has been effective but as I have increased dosage (400 mg) there has been weight gain. I have worked with my endocrinologist (I also have diabetes) and that has become less of a concern.
