    Ok. First I was a Meth addict for about 3-4 years and the day I turned 21 I started drinking to stop doing Meth. I been drinking heavily for about 11 years now im 32 and finally decided ive had enough. I went to the doctor about a week ago and they prescribed me Librium. I think it works better than valium or xanax because ive had both in the past. drug is used to stop DTS but not to stop cravings ... Show Full Comment

    This medication has done wonders for me. I was coming off of alcohol and benzo's withdrawls and this helped alot.

    I'v been in alot of rehabs. This drug is the only thing that brings me relief the modivation to live life. The setback is i have a substance abuse problem. My ? is what do i do. I would rather live happy and die early than be in living hell. I know the addictiveness will be there but that is what support is for right.

    After 6 years of drinking every day, sometimes all day for days at a time, i went to the ER because I knew I was going to be sick and they gave me librium as an RX after i left the hospital. It makes me dopey by the 3rd dose in the early evening, but it keeps me so calm that even when I do think about drinking I feel calm enough to deal with the urges. I am also taking Antabuse.
