I started getting this shot on 8/11/15. This shot is once a week. The first time I took it did give me a little red spot. The second time it was a different nurse and she did really well. I am on my first cycle of IVF. The physician prescribed progesterone injection and suppositories. My husband or I would give the daily injections. I used the progesterone in sesame oil for about 10 days until I had an allergic reaction to it and developed rash on and near the injection sites. This is my second IVF cycle and the first resulted in a very healthy little girl. This medicine worked better for me than the suppositories. They were messy and made me extremely nauseated. The injection site is sore and does swell but i have found that an ice pack after injection helps some.
