I went off Birthcontrol in March. Did not have a period for 2 months. Finally in May called the gyno and had some bloodwork done. FOund out that i had a prolactin level of 120. I had an MRI done and found out that i had a 4.5 mm microademia on my pitutary gland. So they refered me to an endocrinologist. He put me on 5 mg a day. I have been taking Bromocriptine after I was diagnosed with a Prolactin Excreting Tumor a year ago. It took approx. 7 months and blood work every other month before my Dr. found the correct dose for me, since that time and 4 months later I no longer have any symptoms caused by the tumor. I started this medication about a month ago, so far i have not experience any side effect. It is easy to take, as for its effectiveness i will find out next week after my lab result are available.

I was diagnosed with a macro prolactinoma 2 years ago.My Dr. started me on cabergaline and had to take me off because of a link to heart valvular problems (which I now have). I started on this drug and experienced horrible side effects (dizziness, nausea,headaches, foggy feelings) The symptoms subsided in three weeks. My tumor is shrinking and I am happy. I had absence of period for a year and inability to get pregnant in 2005. I was diagnosed with Micro prolactinomia and put on 2.5 mg. Within a month my levels were down and I had a period and within a few months I was pregnant. I had my second baby a year ago. My levels as of my last check were around 7. I have had nausea, but I take it right before bed and that helps a ton!! I'm amazed with
