Comment:
Mom had surgery on leg (broken bone & ankle). I had to give it to her at home intravenously. She developed constipation and uranary retention in 3 days. I took her to back to hospital where she ended up staying there a week before she was sent home with another IV antibiotic. She is allergic to any penicillin type medication.

Comment:
I developed cellulitis in the left leg following a total knee replacement. Keflex didn't work, but Vancomycin, although two weeks worth is a long time, has seemingly worked very well. The redness and swelling and pain are all going away. With 6 days remaining on i.v., I'm praying it removes the bacterial infection altogether.
