I take fentanyl patches for chronic pain. They are effective at managing pain so that I can work, but even at the highest dose it does not control all of my pain. I have to use other medications in addition to this one. Side effects minimal. Biggest complaint is finding the correct brand so that the patch does not fall off by losing its adhesiveness.

I found out after having surgery that I don't respond to narcotics like Morphine. They administered the Fentanyl patch. It worked in terms of pain relief, but it was a crazy experience. I had hallucinating, was extremely sleepy, slurred speech at times, and had very shallow breathing. I couldn't have made it though the pain without Fentanyl, but the side effects were outrageous & ma
