Quinapril can cause a severe dry cough, to the strangling stage. It is extremely scarey. I found I am allergic to ace inhibitors.

Went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with ANGIOEDIMA. Throat was nearly swollen closed. This is after taking this drug for YEARS. I have always complained of "stellagtites" in my throat, and have had siezures at night due to apnia. Could the conditions be related?

I just found out that a dry cough that I've had for a couple of months could very well be caused by this medicine! I have coughed till I choke & even vomit! Didn't know why-what was wrong with me! NOW Dr tells me that it is a side effect.

I was given this drug for a few years, recently told by my physician NO WOMEN SHOULD BE TAKING IT, that it explained all of the bizzar symptoms I had ( for years), one was a 2 day in hospital for bi-lateral persalisis, could not speak move.
