    This medication is approved for pregnant patients as a "safe drug" to use. DO NOT USE this medicine. I used one dose and almost immediately experienced a severe allergic reaction. I got itchy rashes all over my body causing bruising. Pregnant patients beware of this effect.

    Is there a prescription drug equal to Mucinex reason I ask it may be less expensive than mucinex

    On advise from my Doctor,I purchased Mucinex DM Extra Strength for a post nasal drip causing a dry,tickling cough. 1200 mg every 12hours. By the 3rd.pill I had a headache, nausea,stomach pain,felt light-headed and checked the box for side effects. None at all.Called my Doctor,she told me not to take again.     I took 1 600 mg mucinex every 12 hours and after 4 days had horrible stomach cramps and dry heaves coughing up lots of phlem and some vomit. This went on all night. In the am I went in to see a PA and she said I had the stomach flu. I had a fever of 99.5 and felt very weak. I didn't have diarrea but felt just awful.
