Still available by prescription in Ontario, Canada. I just started taking (one week) and exceeds prednisone(4.5 tablets, 3x a day, 5mg each) Diazoxide 3x twice a day 100mg each time. So far holding my sugars up where prednisone would sink fast after 7hrs. Food choices important to balance sugar intake. Taking for insulinoma.

This medication was the last resort for me as nothing else has worked to prevent my blood sugar from plummeting. Now I find out that this drug has had its DIN revoked in Canada and no longer allowed to be sold.

At 6 months my daughter was diagnosed with Hyperinsulinemia and Diazoxide has worked wonderfully to keep the sugar levels at a normal level. The original has such a horrible taste I was unable to get it in her however the Chocolate Mint flavored one has worked wonders. I no longer have t fight her to take it.
