    So I became depressed after a traumatic death of my only sibling. I'm not a fan of taking drugs to "fix" a symptom (I consider depression to be a symptom of a larger problem) but I was so behind in everything and I needed to get myself up to speed again so my doctor prescribed 10mg of Lexapro and told me to take it at night.     I get seasonal depression. I begin taking Lexapro in September and can usually wean myself off of it in March, but I just lost my beloved dog of 8.8 years to cancer and so I will take the Lexapro for another few weeks since I was crying uncontrollably UNTIL I increased my dosage from .025 mg to .05 mg I found taking .05 makes me a bit tired, but its better to be tired than depressed.

    Been taken 10 mg. for the last 5 years. no side effects . this drug does work if you take it daily. it well help your depression.

    Have been taking for over 10 years. Helps me stay calm, not get upset easily, and deal with problems in a rational manner. Saved my life!
