I was put on this medication for depression.I had to stop as I had gained so much weight.I went from 103 lbs.to 161 lbs.. I would of stopped taking Lexapro sooner but I didn't know that was what was causing the weight gain.

With depression caused by a chemical imbalance, my doc wanted me to try Lexapro instead of what I had been on for several years. After less than a week of screaming, grotesque nightmares, I called my doc and told him no way would I ever ever take another Lexapro tablet. He put me back on Elavil and I've been fine ever since.

I have depression, anxiety and panic disorder. This was the second drug I tried. This was also the worst drug I tried. It made my depression and anxiety so much worse. My panic attacks didn't get better. I kept taking it because my doctor thought it was some miracle drug and he said it would work and just to give it some time. Starting taking Prozac and didn't help, switched to Lexapro and feel "normal" for once. Been taking it for years. Always helped and have increased and decreased dosage (under dr. care) as needed. Took in the morning for years, and then switched to taking at night (as I got older). Everyone has to find what works for them, and changes meds is difficult and painstaking. Stick with it.

tried taking this med once, at night the next morning got up in few minutes I became dizzy, chill, nausea and felt like I was going to faint.
