I was prescribed Decadron to reduce the swelling of a brain stem tumor caused by Neurofibromatosis 1(NF-1). Original dose was 4 mlg 3 times a day. Attempts to reduce the dosage prior radiation treatment resulted in the return of life threatening symptoms. Dosage now is 3 1-mlg tabs twice a day. I had radiosurgery to brain and had to take decadron for swelling. I have not slept in 2 weeks!! My mind races wildy at night. Ativan, sleeping pills, benadryl, has not helped. I'm stopping this weekend. Also, I've had very bad heart burn.

Taking for herniate disc to try an avoid surgery. Has helped reduce leg pain by 75% so I will take these short term side affects. Taking 4mg orally only 5 days. Haven't slept more than 4 hours a day since started...very odd dreams, organinzing, complex thought processes, great anxiety, mind races, increased other mental health compulsion I fight immensely! I had brain surgery and after sugery I had to take this medicene for swelling in the brain. It has caused many problems for me, here are some of them. Extreme nervousness, emotional problems, crying, rage, all kinds of very extreme over the top problems. But I have to take it because I am recieving Radiation therapy along with Chemotherapy with another drug Temodar. I hope this will help some one
