I started out taking 250mg a day, now the doctors have me taking 1,750mg a day. They say my body is compensating for the lower levels of CSF. I think this medication is worse than the disease itself. I have had three emergency doctor visits because of undisclosed side effects. Now I am looking at surgery (the shunt)because the doctors have finally began thinking I have been through enough. I have been on this medication for 3 years now for the tx of pseudotumor cerebri. It makes me very drowsy, and "out of it" at times, so I take it before bed time. I also experience numbness (like when your foot falls asleep) in my toes/feet/random fingers, even parts of my face sometimes. my double vision went away but i've have really bad back pains whenever i take this medicine. I feel confused a lot also.
