I took this medication for three months after my divorce. I was having panic attacks and could not stop crying and totally distraught. After three months I felt like my old self and was able to discontinue the medication. I have't neede it since. In my opinion it was a life saver.

I tried different anti-depressants for about a year and finally started taking Paxil. I function so much better on Paxil, I can live my life with out being worried all the time. This is the only anti-depressant that has worked for me with minimal side effects. I do not plan on stopping the medication ever unless i get pregnant, which will be hard to go with out it. My life has and attitude have improved tremendously. I feel noticably less anxious and irritable. The only downside is if you happen to run out. Don't. The withdrawel is highly unpleasant to say the least. However,I feel the pros far outweigh the cons. I have tried Prozac, Zoloft, and Pristiq to name a few.
