One month after hip replacement surgery I developed severe pain in the knee cap area, tendons and muscles and swelling in my shins. Surgeon and rheumatologist were baffled, The surgeon realized I was on Crestor, told me to stop it immediately, Statins are POISON and should be banned. They cause more problems than the solve. It's only been a week and I'm feeling a bit better, it will take time as long as no permanent damage has been done. Do not take statin medications, they will hurt you! There are alternatives.

I took Lipitor for 20 years but asked my doctor for a new Rx when triglycerides spiked. Crestor lowered my level to a safe zone in less than three months. No side effects.

I had horrible large muscle pain with Lipitor and since I've switched to Crestor my bad cholesterol has dropped into the normal range and my good cholesterol has risen!
