I had a close family member take this drug for acne. After taking for 2 months she developed a rash, shortly after that shortness of breath a skin biopsy was done which indicated DRESS a severe systemic allergic reaction. She was placed on oral prednisone. As she was tapering off the prednisone she developed severe chest pain and extreme fatigue. She was taken to the hospital where she cardiac arr

Landed my daughter in the hospital. Headaches and double vision. Spinal tap to relieve pressure around the brain and blood patch to close the holes from the spinal. It was working on the acne, but the payback was not worth it at all. 4 months of use.

Do not take this drug, it is dangerous and can permanently ruin your teeth and vision! Sadly my teeth are now blue/grey after 1 WEEK of using minocycline. I was prescribed to take one pill every 12 hours for 2 weeks (which is 200mg/day). I stopped taking the minocycline on the 7th day because on the 6th day I was having difficulty breathing and my vision was getting blurry (turns out minocyclin

My dermatologist recommended I take minocycline when my cystic acne would flare up (since it's intermittent). Within 48 hour/two doses, I can see my skin calming down and the cysts weakening instead of strengthening. I only take it for a 7-10 days at a time, just to clear things up, then I stop. I've done this several times and I find it quite reliable! I haven't had side effects.

My 16 year old started taking this for his acne and the nausea and headaches started right away. I told him to give him a chance to see if his body would get used to it. Now his whole body is covered with large, red hives he had to get a shot for the itching and discomfort. Please do not let her child or yourself take this med.
