I started taking this drug for a UTI like almost everyone here. I've never heard of it before and I came down with this UTI while my doctor was away so I went to Doctors On Duty to have a urinalysis done and it was determined I did indeed have a bacterial bladder infection. They prescribed 500mg, 2x a day for 3 days. After the first pill the symptoms improved. I started noticing a mild vaginal

The biggest problem I've encountered is that it has made me quite sleepy. I've also noticed the dizziness and light headedness that can be side-effects. However, they haven't been so bad that I've felt the need to discontinue taking the medicine. And it's worked for getting rid of my first, and hopefully last, UTI.

I took two 500 mg of cipro. 30 minutes after taking second dose I broke out in hives and was very hoarse. I also woke up the same night with throbbing in my left leg, and still have that pain on day three. Also, the cultures for my urine showed that I did not even have an infection . This was after spending 6 hours in the emergency room.
