Worked fast (within a day) and the decreased acid lasted about a week after the 14 day use. Did not like that I had to wait 4 months to take it again, and it doesn't explain why 4 months is the magic number. Changing my diet (LOTS of veggies) helped keep the acid down too, and I think that is the best thing anyone can do. The Prilosec allowed my stomach time to heal it's self if needed

For years I managed heartburn as it occurred by using antacids(Tums). It got to the point that I was chewing them constantly. I tried Prilosec and I've never gone back to antacids. I take one a day the first thing in the morning and it works all day for me.
