After a hip replacement, I developed an infection, psudemonas, and was put on gentamicin by IV, sent home with visiting nurses to administer the IV. I was left on this drug for 19 days until I almost died, stopped breathing, heart stopped and kidneys failed. This medication gave me kidney failure and was never informed from the doctors this could happen. I was given a pick line & sent home about 6 days later my kidney failed. I was sent to D.C. hospital & if it wasnt for the doctors there I would not be here today. I went from 0 working to now my kidneys work 33% so I dont have to do dialysis now. So be careful with this medication, I dont knw
