    This medication has been very effective in reducing the pain and swelling in my outer ear. I live alone, so I don't have anyone to administer the drops. That is a problem. I have to gauge how many drops I am administering. I hope that's not a problem.

    Very bad ear pain and swelling made me go to an urgent care facility. At first I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection and given inner ear drops for infection along with antibiotics. Two days later my ear was 100 times worse so I ended up at the emergency and doctor informed me I had an "outer" ear infection so the drops prescribed were doing nothing.     Over the past couple years I have used Cipro HC for various reasons. The first time was to treat granulation tissue left behind from an irrigation procedure (far as I can figure, my ear canal was sensitive to the pressure and possibly the solution used during the procedure).
