May be the drug or maybe the prescribed dose (only .6 mg/day); however; I have had 2 major gout attacks since being on colchicine (accompanied with allopurinol-400 mg/day); which is more frequent than prior to being prescibed. Gout is in left middle knuckle (and being left handed, makes for horrible experience).

Went paralized from waist down which most was in knees and allway down to feet.hospitalized was diagnosed by a by a rheumatologist as Gout had to drain fluid in both legs which took going on 8 months am yet not released for this illness as at the onset was hospitalized then to a care center between both places got bed sores and heel wounds which required 3 derma skin grafts with 30 days of hyperba

My gout has not improved, the pain will go away for an hour or so but I know it always there and is very severe at times
