I was experiencing frequent and increasing gout attacks before taking Probenecid. My doctor started me on 500MG 2x daily, and after a year of no gout attacks, lowered it to on 500MG tab/day. Really worked well for me and no observed side effects.

I am taking PROBENECID/COL 500MG G/O.5M daily with food. It stops arthritis and helped wiped-out GOUT from my joints. Usually take with food at lunch, when I had bad cough, Doctor gave me AVELOX 400mg one-a-day for 10-days, had to stop Probenecid while taking Avelox during lunch time of fear both are high MGs and might cause problem. I, was having painfull episodes of Gout my doctor found high uric acid levels in my urine and blood, you can expect your symptoms to get worse at first than start to fade, now I'M taking 1 a day with no more Gout attacks,and no side affects if you drink plenty of fluids.
