I have a naturally oily face and I suffer from adult acne. In addition to the doxycycline, I apply the topical cream Avar-e. This combination has worked well for the last year or so. The most frequent side effects from the use of doxycycline are dry mouth, dry lips, and sometimes dry eyes if you are in a windy area or under a ceiling fan.

My doctor prescribed this for my moderate acne. I knew as a pharmacy tech that this would make me nauseous, but that is not my complaint. I have been taking it for a week and a half now and i now have a rash on the inside of my leg and on my breast. It has not helped at all with my acne. I will never use this again.

I had tried everything that I could get my hands on and scrubbed my face 2-3 times a day and nothing would help. I finally broke down and called my Doctor and so glad I did. I have been taking this for a little over a month and have had great results with it. My face is completely clear and no more big red swollen knots under my skin that last for weeks. My complexion looks great and I've even ... Show Full Comment

Has made me sick to my stomach and definitely have to take it with food and a lot of water. I don't see that it's really even working for my acne and have been taking for about 2 weeks now. May ask for something different from my doctor.

This is the generic for Adoxa, which I was taking for my acne. I don't rememeber how effective is was for my acne, because I took it for a few days before my throat swelled up so much I could hardly eat. I lost 7 lbs in 1 week. My throat hurt when I would swallow/eat. I could only eat enough to keep from being hungry. It was awful! I wasn't allergic to Adoxa Oral, just the generic for it ... Show Full Comment
