Have been taking Sotalol 120mg. for eight plus years (am currently 67 yrs. old). It has been very effective at controlling my atrial fibrillation. However, within the last year, there has been a significant loss of sexual performance.

Had Afib in 2008 and now in 2016. Had my heart shocked back into rhythm. Taken of Lopressor for Sotalol 80mg twice a day. 5 weeks in and some side affects have lessened. I did have headaches, fatigue, light head, and lower back pain. I still get tired and some anxiety but struggle through it! On Lopressor my heart rate would be in the upper 60's to upper 80's. Now it's anywhere from 52 ... Show Full Comment

Was on Metropolol but after several years my afib bouts progressed to one every 10 days, requiring visits to the ER each time to get converted. Was put on Sotalol 80mg 2xdaily, then up to 120mg 2xdaily, then up to 160mg 2xdaily with little luck. Had an Ablation procedure done 3 weeks ago. Went from 160mg 2xdaily, down to 80mg 2xdaily after 3 weeks. Still experiencing bad side effects though, w ... Show Full Comment

Second time I have been put on Sotalol, first time I only had taken it 3 times and my heart rate suddenly plummeted from 70 to 40bpm with severe thumps in my chest. I am now successfully back on it after a bout of Afib and collapsing and ending up in hospital. I was put back on Sotalol 40mg twice a day while in hospital for 4 days, this time no adverse reactions, and it is now 15 months since my l ... Show Full Comment
