1 yr. following my triple heart by-pass I went into afib. 3 months later, I had a successful electo-cardioversion that put me back into normal sinus rhythm. Began taking 80 mg. twice a day with very little or no side effects.

Placed on Sotalol oral after placement of ICD for Afib. Episodes of Afib more severe though at 8 week intervals I am unable to function normaly for 30-48 hours at a time. 16 months later I am opting for cardio ablation therapy. Want off this medicine to spare liver.

I have been in an out of A-fib for the past ten years. I was recently put on valsartan and 80 mg of sotalol, half in the morning and half at night. My pulse rate is lower has been down to 48 beats a minute. I have a terrible back ache a times and wonder if anyone else experiences severe back aches.
