lets see...where do i start. I've had C-Diff since Christmas and out of work. I've been through 2 treatments of Flagyl and this will be my 3rd treatment of Vancomycin. Nothing has worked. I've even tried one of the best ProBiotics on the market (Florastor). I'm a mess and dont know what to do. I've even tried one of the best ProBiotics on the market (Florastor). I'm a mess and dont know what to do. The dr. is putting me on a protocol that consist of 14 days of vancomycin then after that 14 days of Rifaximin. The last resort is to have harvested stools placed in my body. Not many places do this. I hear its very effective.

I somehow contracted c-diff 5 days after having a colonoscopy and endo. with polyp removal. I had never hear of this. This happened in Dec. trying already to fiqure out why i was losing weight. I need to have ureter looked at for hydroueter and hydrophesis, but can't because it is Feb and i still have c-diff. It is awful. Was on Vanco. and then difficd and now Vanco. again. When will th ... They say it is dangerous to catch or have anything done because it can go to your blood stream? Has anyone else had this for this long. Had not been on antibiotics since last June. Have not started the oral vancomycin, yet, but for the cost, you may be able to get the hospital to give it to the pharmacy and the pharmacy can put the oral into capsules, saved my cost from over 350$ to $7.00 after insurance. Flagyl slowed it down, but am still sick, very tired, am over 60 yrs old.

A devil of a drug!!!! My wife was on this poison for 6 months! 3 rounds of 2 months each and she has finally gotten over the cdiff (I think- waiting on the next stool results).. Over the course of treatment she developed what he rheumatologist claims to be fibromyalgia.. After some research I'm beginning to see that there is a vancomycin induced variety of FM. A devil of a drug!!!! My wife was on this poison for 6 months! 3 rounds of 2 months each and she has finally gotten over the cdiff (I think- waiting on the next stool results).. Over the course of treatment she developed what he rheumatologist claims to be fibromyalgia.. After some research I'm beginning to see that there is a vancomycin induced variety of FM. I'm praying that this will subside.. She's been off it for two weeks with no improvement.. Can't walk much more than 10 steps without being short of breath and exhausted. She can't eat (vomits, extreme cramping) or sleep, and literally cries all night from the pain and joint swelling/spasms.. Praying this will subside.

I am at the end of my rope, this is the worst.
