Tore a tendon in my ankle, awaiting surgery. The pain is excruciating; oxycodone immediate release or hydrocodone/acetaminophen (Vicodin) are not great, but they actually relieve some pain. I received Dilaudid through an IV to manage the pain immediately after a c-section. It got me super stoned but it didn't do anything for my pain. I HATED it because the last thing I wanted in that moment was to feel high. My doctor later said that Dilaudid worked on the brain to almost distract from the pain, but it never worked for me. I will never ever take it again.

I was prescribed dilaudid along with morphine for back and neck pain. I under went 4 surgeries, 2 neck, 2 hip, it was hell coming off of these pai pills, even taken as directed y body became addicted. now a few years later my pancreas is not producing enzymes to digest my food. Used for a knee replacement....tried Percoset, and other pain meds...this has worked for me...stay ahead of your pain.
