I started out having my gall bladder removed. Then the pain continued. I took the breathing test and it was positive for bacteria. I started Xifaxan, within 2 days I felt better, then the cramping started. I read the side effects and realized they were the same pains in the gut area as the condition I had. Overall this med is ok but I also found an over the counter med for IBS brand name TRP IBS (speller out) therapy. Homeopathic which is fast dissolving & may help if taken as soon as U notice symptoms returning for those small periods of upset

This drug provides relief from intermittent severe IBS-diarrhea. I started the drug in Jan 2013 and the effects last 9-12 weeks. I am in constant fear that it will stop working.
