    My husband took this to help clear mucus from chest and reduce cough lingering from cold. He has taken a lower dose of guaifenesin in the past with no problems. This time he developed severe diarrhea with nausea and dizziness. He hasn't been this sick in years. We thought he might have food poisoning. He couldn't go to work.     Was at the tail end of being sick from a head cold with an annoying mucousy cough that only occured late night and early morning. My cough at night was starting up again worse than it had been and I really wanted to sleep without that tickle in my throat. So I decided to take a mucinex dm.     I have never had an allergic reaction before to any food or medicine. I felt light headed after I took it and woke up the next morning, 12 hours after taking with with painful, puffy eyes that were difficult to open due to swelling and was tingly all over my body.
