I have been taking ALA for 3 days when I started to notice hives that would come and go and then joint pain and discoloration. Once I stopped using ALA, the symtoms disappeared in 2 days.

I am a 65 year old male. I take 2.5 mg Plendil and 160 mg Diovan for treatment of high blood pressure. Teatment is effective. I tried Alpha Lipoic Acid as an anti-oxidant. I take the cardiac meds in the morning prior to breakfast. I took 200 mg. ALA with breakfast for three days.
