I WS GIVNE THIS THRU IV IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A SEVERE INFECTION CAUSED BY SPIDER BITE, THEN GIVEN TO TAKE AT HOME FOR 2 WEEKS. THAT & THE INFECTION CAUSED STAGE 4 KIDNEY DISEASE TO ME. NOT VERY HAPPY! IT ONLY OCCURS IN A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PATIENTS FROM WHAT I AM BEING TOLD. THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS IS IGA NEPHROPATHY. NOT VERY HAPPY!
