    I took Xanax for ten years and my doctor told me he would no longer proscribed it due to f.d.a. this was the best anxiety drug I ever took. good luck getting a doctor to proscribe it. I tried other doctors but as soon as you mention Xanax they look at you like you are a drug addict. medication that is tried and true is being denied to patients for the wrong reason

    Took this medication for a few weeks for panic attacks, but couldn't get another script. I was ok with this because it only helped a little bit. Doctor said it was safe to stop taking without tapering because I was on the lowest possible dose for only a few weeks.     I'm 62,and stopping xanax has plagued me with hallucinations, sizures, comatose for days when going cold turkey. ( The d---Doctors pull it from you without tapering off! BAD way to go. Went in Hosp. on no less than three occasions because of this.     xanax worsened my panic disorder beyond comprehension! Had panic attacks maybe once or twice a month. Prescribed xanax as needed. stopped my attacks instantly, thought this medicine was a lifesaver. Over the next few months I took as needed.
