10 pellets every four months, work fantastic until the last 2 weeks where I get a significant drop to the point where I feel sluggish very lethargic until about 3 days after implant, try to keep my levels up until implant with andro gel every other day but just doesn't work, for me, like Testopel, I had mumps when I was a child, this really helps with my mood swings too.

I have a love-hate relationship with Testopel. I feel great for 3-4 months, and forget about low T. Then it plummets for about a week or two until the next implant. After the implant I am sore for a week, and one time I had an infection. I think I'm switching to injections. My upper butt cheek hurts and I'm sick of it.

The insertion was nothing. The doc did a good job. Healing was without consequence. The first month, I though I was on a placebo, and I could feel myself falling as the Testim left my system and was not replaced. The second month was excellent. I was running half marathons. The third month has been a steady decline, and it's the change that I feel. Running is not much of an option now. If this ... Show Full Comment

I felt I was giving a sells pitch. He is from a largest Urology group here in S. TX and he is the only one doing this. The main reason I went for this procedure was to avoid missing to give myself the 200 mg Depo-Testos shot every 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I failed to investigate the effects of this Testopel before I committed to it. However, my Dr. did not tell me the truth about the side effects of it. so, he proceeded with 12 pellets and didn't get around to ice it( since it was close to 5:00 pm) and every one wanted to go home and no clear instructions as to what to do after the procedure. so, I came home and I was sore.1st night it felt my muscle on the side of the body where I got the shot between the upper portion of the pelvic bone to under the rib was tight and achy and on day 2 started seeing a big bruise like feeling if I was kicked by a horse on the hip. The day 3-4 got worse and now the bruising is traveling down the thigh towards the knee, I have taken pictures of the hip and on day 5 which is Mon. I called the Dr.'s office to see if I have any reactions to this medicine since I have had this problem with different gels and shots in the past, so male nurse said that it is to be expected and I need to ice it and wait to see what happens and if it persists then let them know. meanwhile I have not been able to sleep in my bed nor guest bed or my recliner chair. I have had head aches on top of the head like when you hit your head to something hard. Been very tired and no energy to do anything. Yesterday, I went back in person and got to see a PA, who said this is because it's first time and will be better next time, and gave me some antibiotic(do not know why) because the site is very feverish and warm and has not stopped aching. I am 62 and have been using Testopel pellets for about 18 months. I felt really bad all of the time and was told I had fibromyalgia. My urologist had me do a questionaire, after which, he checked my T level. I was at about 230. I opted for the inplants. They have been great! However, they only last about 90 days, for me. But my insurance will cover 4 treatments per year, so it works out. I ... Show Full Comment
