Who should not take Pacerone?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • overactive thyroid gland
  • laser surgery on cornea of eye
  • thyrotoxicosis
  • a condition with low thyroid hormone levels
  • bleeding in the alveoli of the lungs
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • fainting from slow heart beat
  • a patient who is producing milk and breastfeeding
  • pregnancy
  • blood circulation failure due to serious heart condition
  • recent operation
  • liver problems
  • damage to the liver and inflammation
  • pneumonia with high amount of eosinophil white blood cells
  • a type of inflammation of the lung called interstitial pneumonitis
  • inflammation in the lungs due to an allergic reaction
  • abnormal EKG with QT changes from birth
  • abnormal functioning of the sinus node of the heart
  • prolonged QT interval on EKG
  • slow heartbeat
  • torsades de pointes
  • a type of abnormal heart rhythm
  • second degree atrioventricular heart block
  • complete heart block
  • optic neuropathy
  • a disease of the optic nerve
  • sudden blindness and pain upon moving the eye
  • deposits on the eye
  • a painful condition that affects the nerves in the legs and arms called peripheral neuropathy
  • low amount of potassium in the blood
  • low amount of magnesium in the blood

  • Amiodarone
