Had my third child june 10th then I had this product inserted july 10th, 2013. Was an easy process, a little uncomfortable (dr had to scrub stuff out first) i did cramp alot afterward but it was manageable... I am currently breastfeeding.. i havent had a period yet and if i have i didnt know it.. i bled about a whole month after having my third.. on and off alot. i stopped not long before my appt to have this product put in.. i have had some occasional pinkish bloody discharge but idk if its a period starting or just from the product. sex is fine except for the occasional discomfort from the strings. looking at reviews and well im hoping this product works.. i wish i knew about the ungodly amount of discharge this product makes your body produce.. trying to get some more info on this product and its effectiveness but no one seems to put in thier reviews how soon they started having sex to see if the product actually worked.. from what i read i hope i have a period soon but combination of breastfeeding and the copper i may not have one til i stop breastfeeding.. hmmm...

I took a handful of ibuprophen and a zanax the day of the insertion and I must say-even still, the insertion was probably one of the most painful experiences of my life. I'm going to make this as concise as possible. I've never had kids, 35 years old. I took a handful of ibuprophen and a zanax the day of the insertion and I must say-even still, the insertion was probably one of the most painful experiences of my life. I wish I'd known more about red-raspberry leaf tea before the insertion (more on that later). First period after insertion (a month later) was horrifying. Cramps from all hell and excessive bleeding. HUGE clots. I was afraid to go upstairs because I'd be away from the bathroom, should I flood out again. I spotted off and on through the month. This is now month four and the periods are getting easier. I have found three things that help immensely with the cramping and excessive bleeding: NatuRelief chewable cramp relief pills, Red raspberry leaf tea (strengthens uterus and helps stop cramps before they start), and shepherd's purse (slows bleeding). I drink the tea for about a week before the period starts and then, around day 2 of my period, I take shepherd's purse (slow flow is the brand name I use) every 8 hours or so for two days. After the first period, I was entirely too afraid to not try something out to stop the cramping and bleeding. Now, I have little to no real cramping, and when I feel the bleeding is excessive, I take a slow-flow. I'm not a product pusher or anything, I just wanted other women to know that there are herbal remedies out there that will help far more than over the counter painkiller. These natural supplements have saved my life, I swear. My periods are manageable now, and I can even go to the gym most days-on my period-which was a resounding negative the first period after insertion. No other problems, sometimes partner does feel the string, but most importantly, no babies and no hormones. I was second guessing myself for a while but now I'm glad I did it. I'm just scared to death of the day when I have to have it removed.

I have had the paraguard for 1 yr 5 months. I have been meaning to write a review to let others know how my experience was. First, I am a big chicken and was a big nervous of the insertion process. They gave me valium but I was still a bit tense. Anyway, I made it through and I think it was more built up in my mind. The actual process wasn't such a big deal. The first day I took 3 Advil every 6 hrs. I took it real easy, napped and just relaxed. Second day, 2 Advil two times over the whole day. Felt like menstrual cramping. By day 3, I was back exercising and felt pretty normal. I am thrilled not having hormone bc. I was on the NuvaRing for about a 1.5 yr before and just couldn't take the side effects anymore. My period is around 7-10 days (only a couple days on the ring). I read some women need a new pad every hour during peak. Mine is more like every 2-3 hrs during peak. Ok, heavier than usual but I think this is a good trade off. There is nothing else to think about. I've had 2 kids now and the dr said I need bc for at least 15 more years. This will get me through the first 10 so I think that is great. All things considered, I would recommend this to a friend (I already have).

Granted, no other side effects I had experienced with hormones (depression/emotional) so I toughed it out. But after having it for so long I have decided to try something new.

I had my iud placed in march I had very heavy bleeding and horible cramps ... I took my doc more than an hour to place it... Well I'm really upset because I just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant ... I notice a week ago after my husband complained of feeling the iud different than normal... It had almost completely came out halfway to be exact... Wit a lil tug it was out ... Worried and conce ... Worried and concerned about my last cycle I couldn't remember the last time realized I was late ... I took a prenancy test which was positive.. Confirmed wit an ultrasound I'm 6 weeks ... Being a mother of 3 I was told it was the next best thing to getting my tubes tied... All I can keep thinking is it must be Gods will... My youngest is 6 months old .... Very diappointed I put my trust in this product ...
