I've changed from prozac to pristiq because prozac although effective I was numb. Pristiq made me feel interactive and feel sad when sad and happy when supposed to be happy. I however was sleepless in the first few nights. I also felt anxious for no reason. I initially lost weight . When reducing the dose from 100mg to 50mg I experienced bad side effects dizziness, weakness and nausea with st ... Show Full Comment

Like many of you, I have tried different antidepressants over the years. They work until they don't. My doctor Rx'd Britellix but my insurance company required me to try a Tier 2 medication before going to that drug. I was on Celexa so my doctor Rx'd Pristiq. I only took it for one week and was SO depressed (more so than when on Celexa). I stopped and am back on Celexa until I see the ... Show Full Comment

Pristiq helped with my depression and anxiety, but the withdrawals are horrible if you decide to stop or miss a dose. I VERY gradually tried tapering my dose, but the withdrawal symptoms were so bad I ended up going back to the full dose.I'm trying a second time to stop. If I accidently miss a dose or am late taking a dose, I am non functional. I get horrible headaches, dizziness, and nausea. ... Show Full Comment

I started on Pristiq over two years ago. Two other drugs failed to touch my depression - cytalopram and Wellbutrin. Pristiq made me feel almost normal. That said, I've gained weight, it does not help with anxiety, my left eye swelled up 8 months ago prompting lots of tests but no source found and it is still slightly swollen. My left leg and foot swelled up last month prompting lots of tests ... Show Full Comment

This medication has saved my life. My main side effects have been excessive yawning, a little insomnia, and a decrease in sex drive. But overall, in comparison to how I felt before the medication, it has been wonderful. The pros for me outweigh the cons. Little to no weight gain and also helped curb my anxiety. Yeah, I have a little insomnia, but I am not lying awake worrying. It also gives me a p ... Show Full Comment
