I was diagnosed in 1995 and I am doing very well as to moving around, my significant complaint is nerve pain and weakness in my back and legs. My former Neurologist is a leader in his field. He said there are two types of people in relapsing and remitting MS, those with pain and those without. The without patient usually has more physical disability whereas the patient who has pain has less ph ... Show Full Comment

Before taking ampyra, I couldn't walk without using a cane or walker. I also had a problem with fatigue. I had an opportunity to do a clinical trial and in the beginning doing a 6-minute walk I had walkeed 530 feet. Two weeks later doing a 6-muinute walk I did 750 feet. I FEEL SO MUCH FREER NOW AND I LOVE IT.

At my neurologist's prompting, I started taking Ampyra, thinking I could only get better. At first, it seemed to help slightly with my gait, but it also brought ... Show Full Comment

Been on this drug for about a year and can't see any improvement of MS symptoms. I have experienced few, if any, side-effects...maybe some dizziness. Am only staying with it for now because there is nothing else and it may be having some minor benefit that I'm not detecting.
