The only thing that could help my pain fr a herniated disk that had displaced the nerve root. It was iv n only lasted abt 2 hrs max but the nurses piggy backed it w norco pill. So my pain was managed pretty well. Dilaudid took my pain away w in 3 min. I will forever be greatful for it. I only needed it 1 time aftr surgery,since the main pain was gone. I have chronic low back pain due to a failed surgery and also several disc problems. I have been taking pain medication for a time now and a few days ago I was hit with a pain in my low back that was so bad I had problems just being able to move my legs. After two days like that I told my doctor about it and he put me on this med. I noticed it was working in about an hour, so I would say it works
