I'm 72 male and found out last week I had A-FIB. Was given Xarelto 20mg once a day. After 7 days I had weekness in legs, joint pain in knees and ankles. I stopped the meds and called the doctor. Bloody urine. Cardiologist took sample. Came back with bloody urine. Urologist urine sample showed +4 blood in urine. PCP is taking me off Xarelto for 4 days. Leg, knee and abdominal pain. Scheduled for Cycstoscope next week to check bladder. A-fib has stopped but b/p is still high.

I'm very sensitive to pharmaceuticals and prefer natural remedies and nutrition. I was put on Xarelto because of an acute onset of a-fib. I have since had successful cardioversion and want to get off the drug because of near constant headache. I am going to discuss with my doctor using 1000 iu Vitamin e as a blood thinner instead.
